Tokyo's Archbishop Kikuchi sees Asia's church in crisis

"We see Europe as a role model"

An ageing society and an extreme minority situation are characterizing the Catholic church in Japan. Tokyo's Archibishop Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi talks about the difference between Japan's church and Europe, the Synod on Synodality and internal conficts at Caritas Internationalis, of which he has been president for about a year.
